As of 1.3.6d

I've been ALT-B reporting these, but it doesn't look like there's chatter on the aeon's issues (aside from older, more major ones that have been fixed), so I'm just gathering (and updating this post) of bugs I've encountered with my aeon, so other people visiting via Google don't get surprised by mechanical issues. It's been frustrating to be surprised by some of these issues.

  • Aeon Bane mentions dispelling off of spells as well, but as far as I can tell dispel *only* happens with weapon attacks
  • Enforcing Gaze - Energy Shield appears to have no affect on enemies that fail their save (they still use their full elemental resist)
  • Enforcing Gaze - Area of Effect
    • does not appear to work on your area of effects that you cast before combat
    • if a party member loses the buff because your aeon is out of range, they do not regain immunity when you come back into range. similarly, if the party member wasn't in range at first, they don't gain immunity to effects when they come into range.
    • does not actually protect against your aoe spells that have a non-instantaneous duration if they have a component that does damage once, without duration.
      • example: tar pit is listed as having a duration, but you won't be protected against the "as soon as it appears" part of the spell
      • example: tsunami is a 1 round duration spell, but you won't be protected by it
  • Force Reality frankly doesn't seem to work much at all. I suspect many of the buffs that enemies pre-pack are immune from this, so mostly things they cast in-fight (Mirror Image) get checked for a dispel

I'll keep adding on to this list as I run into issues. And, of course a u/OwlcatStarrok namedrop for awareness. Feel free to contribute any you don't think are well-known. If you have experience that contradicts bullet points I've added, please share, since that too may help narrow when certain broken mechanics emerge.

Patch 1.3.7 is landing soon, which may or may not have some of these fixed. Please tag me again after it goes live, if issues remain.

Hiya u/OwlcatStarrok, while I'll test in-game just in case, nothing in 1.3.7 patch notes suggests these issues have been adjusted, so I'm tagging you again.

I've reported all of the issues I've personally found in my OP via ALT-B in-game. Is there anything else I can do to help the team squash these bugs? (Videos maybe?)

Anything that helps to reproduce the issues and points where they are is always good. A large part of fixing the bug is not writing the code, but being able to consistently reproduce the problem to find out which part of the code causes it.

None of the Primordial Gazes work if you deactivated a gaze to turn them on it appears.

Aeon Bane dispel on spells work, but only for spells that require attack rolls (rays).

Enforcing Gaze - Power of Law doesn't follow the new formula for DC (general gaze DC was 15 + 2x rank, now it's 10+1/2CL+rank+highest ability modifier, Power of Law was 15+rank). It's still currently 15+rank, which makes it lategame nearly 20 points of DC lower than other gazes.

Zero State can still dispel auras that shouldn't be dispellable (it can take off things like Spellstrike).

Aeon characters created in Inevitable Excess do not transform visually at rank 9.

Tagging u/OwlcatStarrok here.

Thanks. Did you report this all via ALT+B?

I also ask you to check this again and tag me again if it's still bugged after DLC3 goes live, there's a good chance a lot of these are in the works for 1.4 and I don't want to duplicate them for the team.

Hiya u/OwlcatStarrok just a fresh ping on this post with 1.4.0y dropping and nothing touched from this Aeon bug list (though the Pure Form spell being fixed is nice!)

Thank you. Known, still work in progress. There's a lot of rather complicated cases there.
