so i replayed The White March DLC from pillars of eternity 1 a few days ago, and it is such a good DLC, definitely one of the best DLCs i have ever player, comparable to the likes of The Witcher 3 Blood And Wine, Neverwinter 2 Mask Of T he Betrayer, Borderlands 2 Tiny Tina Assault on dragon keep, etc.
all of this got me thinking how WOTR which is one of my fav games (among my top 5) never got that proper expansion befitting of the main game. DLC1 one was one time play and forget, DLC 2 was just OK (i just could not care about it), DLC 3 is not that bad it added good gear, power, money, and lvl boost to the main story, and DLC 4 was the best one in my opinion, i really liked Ulbrig, the added lore, and the Shifter class.
however even with DLC 4 in mind i still think WOTR could do much better giving the incredible base game that can be built upon, true we still got two more DLCs coming, one is a follow up to Through The Ashes, and the other one is a Citadel type DLC, which I'm hoping will be an excellent expansion worthy of WOTR. but if what was said is true, that if season 2 does well we might get a season 3 of DLCs, then i really hope we get a DLC during the time skip.
post game expansions are almost impossible to make for WOTR due to the sheer deference in the game endings, and due to the power scaling, however the time skip feels like such a good opportunity to incorporate a solid story expansion to the main story. the KC goes missing for few months stuck in a weird alien exotic place where they have to find their way out, and partake in a grand adventure that could potentially offer a a breath of fresh air to the main campaign.
