Hello, friends!

Today, we have exciting news for everyone who loves narrative-driven video games — Owlcat Games is embarking on a new quest to help other studios as a publisher. We will work with teams that share our passion for telling captivating stories through narrative-driven games. Together we want to deliver new, exciting experiences, akin to what we as a studio aim to create ourselves.

After reviewing more than 50 projects, we have signed deals with two talented development teams — Emotion Spark Studio, based in Serbia, and Another Angle Games, based in Poland.

Emotion Spark Studio is working on a narrative RPG called ~Rue Valley~. It is a story about a man trapped in a mysterious time loop, who faces his mental challenges to uncover the origins of the anomaly.

Another Angle is creating a turn-based isometric RPG set in an alternate feudal Japan called ~Shadow of the Road~. It is an immersive story about samurai, honor, and allegiance, combined with a deep tactical turn-based combat system in a world filled with magical yokai and deadly steampunk technology.

Both games are still in the early stages of development, and we will share more information about them later this month.

Stay tuned!

While this is exciting news, I do worry that OC is stretching too thin. 4 new games in work, alongside RT support and wotr updates. Now with them being publisher, I worry they'll implode if they can't sustain their 500 employees

This activity is done by the publishing section, that has seen significant growth in the recent couple of years, and will continue to grow. It doesn't interfere with development of our own games.

Just be careful of too quick growth. Explosive growth can have explosive consequences.

With that said, great to hear.

We've more or less already passed this stage, retaining both the spirit and the atmosphere =)

Team has grown nearly tenfold since Wrath was released. If something in our approach would change, people would probably already notice :)

They're out of Russia by now, right? They've fully relocated to Malta, Cyprus, or wherever they were moving?

Our offices are at Cyprus and Armenia, yes. And the rest of the team is spread around working remote from over a few dozen countries around the world.

I randomly read this on Wccftech today, and I could barely believe it. It's so great to see that CRPGs can be such a financial success. Owlcat and and Larian are spearheading a new CRPG renaissance, and I am all for it!

Thank you for giving indie RPG developers a chance to realize their passion projects. Must be a great feeling to uplift people who are in the same position that you were once in yourself. Wishing you all the success in the world! 🤞🏻

It's absolutely a great feeling. Thank you!
