Hi there,

I’m an older gamer and grew up on RPG classics like Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Champions of Krynn, Might and Magic and all those. From there in my 20s it was Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter, Planescape, etc.

Thing is, I’ve never played a Pathfinder game. Mostly because life gets in the way, wife, kids, work. I never stopped gaming playing RPGs like witcher 3, mass effect, wasteland 3, cyberpunk, kingdom come deliverance, etc.

Recently, like so many others I’ve fell back in love with that old school RPG feel with Baldurs Gate 3. Reading about Pathfinder WOTR it seems like the game is more aligned to those older deeper style of RPGs and I think I will enjoy it.

However, I plan on playing on PS5 and like turn based more because I like the slower pace but I love the ability to switch back and forth. I’ve read that PS5 is really buggy too.

So kinda just looking for feedback on whether I should give WOTR a go or not? At the moment I don’t have a gaming PC so PS5 is my only option (noting I’ve got my eye on a ROG Ally or Legion Go as my early Christmas present to myself hehe).

Fair enough. Well I already purchased the PS4 version on sale so hopefully the PS5 version will be an upgrade. Even if it’s not and I have to pay at least I’ll know whether it’s my style of game or not. Would be a smart move on their part to release a PS5 version at the end of the year on the back of the Baldurs Gate success.

It will be an upgrade. Also, Q1 2024 is looking more realistic at the moment.
