Got this idea from a comment in a post I made about Nenio. I'll try not to shamelessly rip them off at Nenio's part.

Seelah: "I made a Paladin, but I'm definitely not going to be lawful stupid."

DM: "Sounds good"

Seelah: "Yeah I'm going to fight demons and all that but generally I'm going to be pretty easy-going about morality, you know?"

DM: "Sooo you're going to be like a normal person that just hates demons?"

Seelah: "Yeah basically."

Camallia: "I want to be evil, but I don't want anyone to KNOW I'm evil."

DM: "You know there's a spell that lets the user detect people's alignment, right?"

Camellia: "sh*t. Well, can I have a necklace or something that hides my alignment?"

DM: "Sure, but that will probably make the party even more suspicious."

Camellia: "Naaaah, I'll play it real cool in the game. They'll never suspect a thing!"

Lann: "So I've been reading the lore of Golarion and Kenabras specifically, and I want to be a descendant of one of the first crusaders who was corrupted by demons and hid underground."

DM: "Wow, that's a great idea! What's your class?"

Lann: "Zen Archer. I'm going to prove once and for all that monks aren't useless."

DM: "I love you."

Lann: "Uh, thanks"

Wenduag: "So, I don't know what this dee-en-dee thing is, but Lann asked me to come so I'll just play what he's playing."

DM: "Ok, though the monk is kind of a difficult class to play for a beginner. Want to be a fighter instead? They can also use bows well"

Wenduag: "Yeah sure whatever."

DM: "So what's your character all about?"

Wenduag: "I dunno, how about I kill people and eat them?"

DM: "....I don't know if the other players will be cool with that. They might try to kill you."

Wenduag: "That's fine, if they do maybe I'll come back later somehow."

Woljif: "Get this: I'm a chaotic neutral-"

DM: "Here we go."

Woljif: "No look, he'll really be neutral! I mean, yeah he steals things from people, including the other players, and he might cut a deal with the enemy for his own benefit, but deep down he's an alright guy!"

DM: "Do you promise not to run off with their gear like you did in the last campaign?"

Woljif: "Y-yes."

Ember: "I'm playing a young elf witch, and she's like super innocent and doesn't understand where her magic comes from. She has this dark, tragic, and tear-jerking past that I wrote in that 1500-word email I sent you. Did you read that yet? It's fine, I'll make sure I explain it all in-game in a way that seems natural. Anyway, she is severely scarred because cruel men thought she was a bad omen and tried to burn her at the stake, but she has such a big heart that she forgave them even thou-"

DM: "Yes yes that all sounds great. Just please, can you promise me that you won't start another argument about alignments at the table?"

Ember: "Just---alignments are so dumb! It's all subjective anyway! Like, what makes demons worse than anyone else? Aren't demons just a reflection of the human pathos?"

DM: "Oh my god, just take your character sheet. Game is on friday"

Ember: "Thanks!"

Nenio: "I want to be a fox girl!"

DM: "Oh a kitsune, they're pretty neat. So why does she want to join the crusade?"

Nenio: "Crusade?"

DM: "...Did you read my text about what the campaign is?"

Nenio: "Nah I'm just along for the ride."

DM: "Fine, but what will you be doing?"

Nenio: "Science!"

DM: "What kind of science?"

Nenio: "Like she'll get drunk and write down what the effects are, and she'll ask people random questions and tell them to stick out their tongues, it will be so funny"

DM: "Oooook, so what's her backstory?"

Nenio: "Backstory?"

DM: "Did you come up with ANYTHING other than 'fox girl that likes science'?"

Nenio: "I'll just say she forgot it all. You come up with a backstory for me."

Daeran: "I want to be an angelic aasimar, but I also want to play against type, so I'm selfish, mean, and sarcastic to everybody."

DM: "Why would you join a crusade against demons if you're selfish and mean?"

Daeran: "Well he's got a great old one in his soul and it will destroy the world if anyone finds out, so maybe that can be used as a reason."

DM: "....What"

Daeran: "Yeah I wrote it all in my backstory. Pretty sick, huh?"

DM: "Fine, I can work around that. As long as you don't screw with the setting anymore that should be-"

Daeran: "Also I'm super rich and the queen is my cousin."

Sosiel: "I don't really know what I want to play. Can I just be support?"

DM: "You don't need to just be support, there's plenty of classes that can do damage, tank, and control the battlefield while also buffing and healing.

Sosiel: "Look I'm mostly going to be drawing on my tablet every session, so just make me a healer."

DM: "Cleric with extra channels it is."

Sosiel: "Sounds good!"

Regill: "Gnome. Hellknight."

DM: "Wow, that's actually pretty original."

Regill: "Yeah, and I already have a plan on how to maximize the crusade phase."

DM: "Look Regill, the system is gamey but you have to remember this is also a roleplaying game. You guys were successful in Kingmaker, but half your kingdom was killed in the process. That's not the best outcome."

Regill: "This again? They're just NPCs!"

DM: "I'm not going to tell you how to play, but I won't let you slide with sacrificing innocent people, even if they're NPCs. You need a good reason to do it."

Regill: "Already got that covered. He's Lawful Evil."

Greybor: "My character is an assassin for hire. He's the best at what he does and what he does isn't very nice. He's killed demons and dragons and is a total badass."

DM: "Yeah, great. What else?"

Greybor: "I mean, he's SO cool. He's basically Geralt and Wolverine rolled into one."

DM: "Yes, ok, I get it."

Greybor: "He doesn't work free though. The party will have to pay him."

DM: "Why did I invite you"

Arueshalae: "I really like this concept so please bear with me: I want to play a succubus"

DM: "I don't know if that would work since the succubi template has lots of powers, much less a succubus in a campaign about killing demons.."

Arueshalae: "Wait! She's a repentant succubus who wants to be good so she doesn't use most of her demon powers!"

DM: "I guess that can work. I'm already giving you all mythic feats, so I have to be careful about what extra stuff I let you have."

Arueshalae: "Also she has wings and can fly."

DM: "..."

Arueshalae: "And she starts with two stats above 20"

DM "......"

Arueshalae: "And the goddess Desna will never let her die so she's effectively immortal."

Have to admit this made me chuckle.
