Because right now some, and I stress SOME, areas are almost unplayable on low and mid-range machines that were handling Kingmaker with no issues.

I understand the game being more taxing than Kingmaker due to the new camera rotation feature (even though you promised the performance wouldn't suffer because of it when asked about it before launch), but the lighting engine in some areas seems to be completely unoptimized.

For example, in order for me to stay above 30FPS in Kenabres Square I have to turn off Shadows completely, but even then the performance is less than ideal considering there's nothing special about that area in terms of graphics so it shouldn't run that badly.

I even heard people with beastly PCs struggling to maintain 60FPS in those areas so clearly there's something wrong on the optimization side of things.

The biggest culprits of these severe performance issues seem to be Shadows and SSR so my uneducated guess would be that there's something wrong with how the game handles lighting.

And you clearly know about it since there were some optimization fixes included in 1.0.2e, so let's hope you'll continue to optimize the game in major ways soon, because right now it's hard to focus on how good the game is when I struggle to stay above 30 FPS in certain areas.

(And to all of you that will inevitably try to give me advice in the vein of "top 10 Google tips on how to increase FPS in WotR: 1. Update your GPU Drivers, 2. Don't run any programs in the background...", please don't. I know how to keep my PC clean, updated and working. This isn't an issue on my side, it's a problem with the game being unoptimized in SOME areas.)

EDIT: Made a boo-boo in the title, "post-paunch", obviously meant to type "post-launch" xD

Hey guys! We're keeping an eye on this and are already doing some minor optimizations here and there. While it may take some time to get to this properly, we will definitely look into it once things are a bit less on fire in terms of bugs.

Regardless, whenever you suffer from a visible FPS loss, PLEASE leave a bug report via ALT+B. It will help us identify the problematic spots. This especially concerns the people who started to experience lagspikes after the last patch.
