Spoilers for the ending to the game and multiple mythic path spoilers
I was hoping the DLC would take place after the main game, and based on what I have seen this seems to be the case. I was disappointed with the endings of the game, not because of the content of the endings, but because of how rushed they felt. Resolving the Worldwound, getting a few lines of text about each companion (not even showing any consequences for the hundreds of other choices you made) then getting booted back to the main menu.
So I am hoping the DLC is similar to Dragon Age Awakening, set maybe a year after the events of the game with the crusade going their separate ways in the time in between. But then some world-ending threat appears and the Commander has to get the gang back together and use their uber-OP mythic powers (or normal mortal powers) to save the world again. Getting a short scene of my Gold Dragon Commander chilling with Areelu Vorlesh by the Worldwound could be fun, with a similar intro scene for each mythic path. Then you're off to find the Macguffin or fight the Dark Lord or whatever original fantasy story they want to use.
I don't know how this would be implemented for things like Swarm or True Aeon. Would the DLC just straight up not work for them? That seems most likely given the nature of their endings.
Then they could have what I sorely missed in the main game: an actual epilogue. Getting the chance to talk to each individual character before the actual ending (again like Dragon Age) would add so much, in my opinion. Hearing Lann talk about the first stop on his grand journey, or asking Greybor about what job he has lined up next, and maybe figuring out your future with your romance instead of a cryptic "they occasionally talked sometimes and kind of maybe loved each other" from the original epilogue.
But maybe it's just me who prefers story to combat. A complete gore-fest "kill everything" DLC where you get to let loose with your powers could be pretty fun too. Thoughts?
