This is the worst I have seen it this league with people posting items (even small items) for 0.2ex -> 0.9ex instead of chaos equivalents. Fractional exalts are typical of items 1ex+, but the only reason people are doing it now is to take advantage of GGGs poor implementation of currency equivalency. If you are going to call something an "equivalent" it should be in the same ballpark.. The ratio has not even been close all league and people are being taken advantage of that don't know you need to change the search from "chaos orb equivalent" to "chaos orb" if people are listing for exalt fractions.

This is NOT a matter of it being "slightly lagged behind". The ratio is so far off, 0.8ex will show up in a "chaos orb equivalent" search before 90c will. 0.8ex is over 110c... so people are often paying 20-30% more for items.

Before "hurr durr everyone knows this just search both": I know that players are getting taken advantage of because I've been one of the people (albeit not maliciously..) on the selling end. I have been posting items in exalt equivalents because they WON'T SHOW UP until you scroll WAY down for people who are searching "chaos orb equivalent". Things fly off the shelves for .5/.6 exalts (73c+)when if they searched "chaos orb" they could have bought the item for ~50-60c.

If third party sites can accurately maintain these ratios using basic methods then surely GGG can do it too. I feel like they try to explain things away as being too complicated and then some random dude goes and writes an app/website/whatever and implements it. I'm not trying to bash on ggg here, but this is not only annoying, but more than ever it is now problematic for players.

I found the "Update ratios to make reddit happy" button and pressed it!

But seriously we should do better here. Unfortunately it's currently a manual process since it can be pretty slow to update the values of ~180 million items as well as it putting heavy strain on the databases. Due to this I'm not keen to automate it until we spend some quality time tidying up the system.

I'll set up a reminder to do it every week and we'll see how that goes for now.

What? Why would you need to do that? The value is set by the player - all you need to do is have a single ratio that is automatically updated then do some basic math when the page is fetched. Hell that sort of thing can be done client side. You're not really hardcoding the equivalent chaos price for every listing, I've misunderstood this right?

Queries are limited to 100 results, so sorting needs to happen sometime before that limit kicks in. We also have a Chaos Orb Equivalent filter

that needs to be able to efficiently filter your query to the specified range before other filters are applied.

It was an ungood joke.

Seems that way. I guess I'm used to the reddit of old.

Something weird seems to be affecting the default sorting, I have a an Emperor's Might listed at 24ex, and it appears between a 30ex one and a 35ex, no matter if I reprice it (tried 23, no change), change tab etc. A couple of 29ex ones also appear after the 35ex:

Yeah it'll be weird while the ratios update since it's a slow process. Around halfway down now.
