The 1.4.138 update for Path of Building is now available, containing the passive tree for 3.7.

Other changes for 3.7 are still to come; note that skill gem additions and changes won't be coming until the patch is released as I won't have access to the necessary data.

An important note about the new Legion jewels: Unfortunately these will not be properly supported by Path of Building, as the algorithms they use to modify the passive tree will not be publicly available. Some degree of support may be possible however, such as adding support for the new keystones.

For existing users, the update is available via the usual update system; click "Check for Update" at the bottom left if the update hasn't already been downloaded. For anyone interested in trying the program for the first time, head to the releases page to get the installer.

That may be one means by which a form of support may be added, but I can't yet say exactly how I'll end up doing it.

Well, I kinda am GGG, so I could check myself, but I wouldn't worry too much about it as the patch notes tend not to be 100% accurate with the passive tree changes.

That way you would be able to finish everything beforehand and just need to hit the release button once league starts, and no proprietary information is exposed to the public in advance.

I'm rather opposed to doing so, as it wouldn't be fair to other tool developers. Also, I won't necessarily have time to implement it all before the patch is live anyway.

I'm assuming this includes the specific case of jewels that someone has already socketed into a slot, and is importing the character for into PoB.

Is this an API limitation, or just something that isn't currently handled by PoB?

(I ask because I'll be collecting the data on exactly how each jewel I get affects my tree: it would be really convenient if the information for what nodes are actively being changed by a socketed jewel, and to what, would be available via the character passive tree API.)

I'm not sure if that information will be available when importing characters, but I suspect it may be the case. As for how I would handle it from there, I don't know.

I did some quick research about this, it's essentially a Steiner Tree problem. It's an NP-hard problem, but there are some algorithms to solve it somewhat efficiently depending on the parameters (and some better one to get good approximations). It's probably something that would take quite some time to implement though.

However, I might take a closer look and think about doing something for this. Do you have a few informations about the tree, namely the total number of nodes in the current tree, and some kind of representation (like adjacency matrix) ? This could allow me to do some testing.

Anyway, thanks for the good work as always !

I'd like to implement something like that eventually, but I haven't anywhere near enough time to work on things like that at the moment.
