We did consider turning it into event for everyone to join, but yes, because the private league had already started, we couldn't easily do it without breaking the league. We also want to make it that transitioning such private leagues to main events in the future is possible, but will take some infrastructure work that we can't quite fit in right now.
In general, we are fully open to having content creators approach us about events, and if the community is sizable enough we are always happy to provide support in hosting those events.
