I hope the jewels are relatively accessible so more people can try them instead of being a super endgame thing.

They should be reasonably accessible.

@bex Will we got some extra passive skill points? Or just should choose which path we go with new jewels?

You won't get extra passive skill points so you'll need to be very selective about your path!

When do they announce balance changes?

Outside of the new jewel system there are some small balance changes that we will share in the coming weeks.

About the passives, the passives that the jewels add are already allocated right? No passive points needed. If so, that is insane

You'll need to allocate skill points in order to utilise them.

How do the new nodes work with regret orbs? Do you get those points back when you remove the jewel, or do you have to refund each passive node before you can take the jewel out of its spot?

Jewel sockets and keystones cost one respec point to respec, the others cost zero so there are some wheels you can freely respec.

For Hollow Palm, do you need to remove all of your both weapons slots and gloves or just one of those? I'm guessing all of them.

Yes, you remove them all. Your hands should be empty, your palm hollow.

So in ZiggyD's reveal, the delirium map has a line

Players in Area are 40% Delirious

What?

Cartographer's Orb of Delirum will add stacks of delirium to your maps to increase the difficulty of your experience and add a reward type. The map there has two orbs applied.

What happens to the passive points allocated in the jewel if you unsocket the jewel?

You'll need to use an Orb of Regret or passive refund point to remove keystones and Jewels but the other passives can be freely undone.

How will radius jewels inside of the cluster jewels work? Will they center on the main jewels. Or the expanded slot? Or not work? Will a lionseye jewel overlapping a cluster jewel convert everything inside of it to bow modifiers?

Radius jewels do not affect Cluster Jewels. We want delirium to affect exiles, not our programmers.

Man, a league based around fog? Rip anyone barely holding on to fps as it is.

The fog tech was originally created for Path of Exile 2 (for graveyards, etc) and is very high-performance. It uses a volumetric post-process rather than particle effects, and has a constant low overhead regardless of what is going on (rather than being more expensive in more intense situations). Other fog effects we have used in the past that you may be concerned about used stacking particles which are a lot more expensive.

So about Hollow Palm Technique - ZiggyD's video showed "40% more attack speed", and jewel on announcement page shows "60% more attack speed". Which is it?

We buffed it since the press tour.

For clarity, Bex, say I have one of these Jewels socketed, and it gives me five more nodes. I choose all of them.

How many Regrets do I need to use to unsocket the Jewel?

Thanks!

One unless you have jewels or keystones allocated that are from that original jewel.

Yes, we'll have more in depth details about that within the next few days.

Looks awesome, but why limit it to 5 orbs per map? This seems like a great way to challenge players with, infinite difficulty challenge a la Delve, for players!

5 orbs applied to a map will be seriously intense.

Yep

Unskipable content then? Hope it's smooth with maps!

You can skip it by not applying the orbs or engaging with existing Delirium within the map. However, if you do apply the orb the delirium will be pervasive across the entire map and also stack with default Delirium encounters.

can we use several of the same orb of delirium on the same map, or do they have to be different?

so, are 5x cartographer possible?

You can use five of the same type.

You can.

If you apply 5 orbs, does using the default encounter add even moreso?

If it's 20% per orb, can you go over 100% delirious?

Yeah so you would be 100% delirious and then have the encounter on top of that!

i might be understanding this so wrong but let me ask:

if you put an orb to a map, will the map be 100% influenced without the need to activate the mirror?

and then, for every 20% you get more mobs and so more drops?

If you apply five Orbs of Delirium to a map you'll experience 100% delirium. (One orb = 20%) There's no mirror to activate the delirium in this instance, it's applied evenly to the entire map.

Does that mean we can't allocate them using leap of faith?

Added passive skills are never considered to be within radius of any jewel. There is reminder text on all the cluster jewel stats that add passives clarifying this, which will be visible in-game.

So was this just unprogrammable or were there balance concerns? Thread of hope/legion jewels are super cool so it's a bit disappointing that they won't interact with the new cluster jewel nodes whatsoever.

Literally none of the stuff that handles distances on the tree can understand things being added to it - it all relies on the base tree and precalculated info.

2 questions - will radius jewels inside added cluster affect original nodes and will it affect cluster nodes?

No and No. Added passives are never within radius of anything (and thus nothing is ever within radius of an added passive).

They cost skill points to allocate them but not refund points to remove them.

I had a few questions regarding the new skill "Blade Blast", if you can't answer these questions with confidence yet, due to things being subject to change I understand, but I was curious about some interactions.

  1. Are overlapping Explosions from Blade Blast able to shotgun?

  2. Is there a limit to how many blades can be detonated with a single Blade Blast?

  3. Is there a limit to the number of blades that can be summoned at any given time?

  4. Does the damage of Blade Blast depend on the damage of the "blade skill" used to generate the blades?

  5. Can a player detonate blades generated by another player?

Thanks in advance for all the replies, keep up your hard work GGG!

Tomorrow’s news post includes more information about Blade Blast. Feel free to ask again if you still have questions.
