[2021] Some kind of invasion during campaign brine king bossfight

Judging by Flameblasts and Skeletons, it looks like Abaxoth decided to show up. Was there a pack of monsters in the arena? They probably had "Voidspawn of Abaxoth" which would cause them to spawn a Unique Beyond boss when the monsters were killed.

You're right about this, green tinge on Brine King shows he's possessed. Had a look at Tormented Vaal Cultist and it seems to replicate what happened in the image.
