Grinding Gear Games is hiring for the Community Team!

Grinding Gear Games is looking for another junior community team member! This is a full-time role based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Desired Skills/Background

  • Strong written communication skills - Essential

  • Knowledge of and experience with Path of Exile gameplay - Essential

  • A strong work ethic/drive to improve - Essential

  • Works well in collaboration with others - Essential

  • Able to work efficiently once familiar with our systems and processes - Essential

  • Basic ability in photoshop/video editing - Desired

  • A keen eye for aesthetics - Desired

  • Experience in managing small game communities (e.g. as a forum mod, streamer or guild leader) - Bonus

This is a junior position. We're looking for someone with the right mix of ingredients that we can train further within the role. This requires someone who fits well within our existing team dynamic and has the desire and work ethic to learn and level up their skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing news posts

  • Creating news banners

  • Creating video content (both editing and learning how to use our in-game camera/tools)

  • Creating visual assets like screenshots or displays

  • Gathering feedback and reporting on it internally

  • External communication

This role is fairly dynamic and no two days are alike. While the role's general framework is predictable, this would be best suited for someone who enjoys keeping things interesting and thinking on their feet. While we require people to be working somewhat simultaneously for the bulk of the day to enable communication across the team, we are fairly flexible with start times and aim to be able to adapt to your lifestyle. For example, we usually start any time between 7am and 11am NZ and make it very easy for you to be able to take off for appointments and general life stuff. It's also worth noting that there is occasionally weekend work that is needed but this is predictable in advance and we will negotiate this with you ahead of time.

The community team currently has five other members so we're looking for another to take under our wing and become a cohesive part of the crew.
