So I pretty much never post on reddit at all, but the frustration with this topic is growing day after day.

For a few leagues now this has been the case:

The first days and weeks after release are a bug-ridden mess. It's either performance issues or flat out game breaking bugs.

I can't even reliably buy some gear because the trade site has been having problems for days now.

How is all of this not something that gets addressed appropriately?

Yes, GGG manages to fix most of the things in the weeks after league release, but how is it acceptable, time and time again, that the league start is basically unplayable?

You'd imagine that the first few weeks of a fresh league are the most important so people don't want to quit it early, even if the league mechanic is really fun like Legion.

It's just really frustrating that this has been the case for months now and it'll probably be the case for the upcoming leagues as well.

I am very sorry about the frustration with this stuff. We don't launch releases aware of technical issues, and try to work quickly to resolve them once they happen.

Unfortunately some problems only occur when you throw a few million real players at something. To do the best we could without having an Alpha realm containing all of our players, we ran extensive load-testing with bots on a test server before Legion's launch. This helped make sure that our servers would be stable (which they have been), but didn't find specific client/instance crashes that only come up in real play activity until they actually happened. The time between a crash being reported and being fixed is as fast as it ever has been, and we're trying to improve this process to make it faster.

Two issues affected the trade API/site. The first was resolved early in the league, and the second was earlier resolved. I have been told that things are good now, but haven't been able to test it myself because I am currently travelling.

You're right to hold us to a high standard of quality. We will strive for this and I will make whatever changes are required to ensure it's better and better with each release. Thank you again for your continued feedback and positive comments about the league. I'm really glad you're enjoying it.
