Currently the more monsters you kill at once, the bigger the harvest. In addition, Map IIQ does affect the result but flattened by heavy diminishing returns so that there isn't quite as much incentive to only do harvest fights in the best maps you can roll. This may change as we continue to iterate.

Yes but you can only use it for crafting purposes.

We would prefer that too but it will end up datamined so we may as well make it an official source. This actually applies to many of the things we reveal before launch but would prefer to leave to be discovered in game.
