In the weeks leading up to the 3.7 Legion release I was excited at the possibility of Close Combat Support (CCS) becoming an S-Tier support gem for melee skeleton builds. I'm not sure what the exact words were but I think it was mentioned that Skeletons were not coded or mechanically capable of using CCS because they technically did not use their swords to deal damage and therefore CCS would not work. ( apologies if my lack of coding/game development knowledge is severely lacking)
With a rework/overhaul of Skeletons in 3.8, I am curious as to the nature in which they (possibly) were changed in relation to the ability to use CCS. Are they now coded such that the game recognizes melee skeleton as attacking with swords (I don't know how this works), or are they reworked in such a way that CCS is now a viable support gem to use?
If not, are there any future plans to make CCS work with skeletons, is it still something that needs to be decided, or is this a mechanic that GGG does not want to ever work in the game?
I am curious to know both the developer's stance on this subject as well as that of the community.
Thanks.
