@deegthoughts If it's strictly for engagement (old stuff is now useless, come get the new stuff,) you could give us a rare component each season that uncaps the power on a weapon or piece of armor. A pseudo-exotic, a step above masterwork. Maybe a completed seasonal artifact turns into it? [2]
@deegthoughts Depends on what their end goal is, I think. If it's to avoid future design conflicts, like wiping the slate clean so that they don't run into balance issues with older gear versus newer gear, that's one thing. [1]
