This game used to be legit and now it's a shell of itself...
The naval update has completely ruined the game.
I tried it for awhile but the game is now a race to see who gets in the water first and that's it.
My biggest issue is you cannot put a boat in the water and have it defend itself against an attack. Only the scout can shoot back, and it has a weak defense. This needs to be fixed!!
The juggernaut is stupid. It looks stupid and performs stupid. It reminds me of a fat guy floating in a pool in a donut tube, just bouncing into everyone else... sorry but this isn't warfare.... I know this opinion is especially harsh but we didn't need a naval unit more useless than the crab.
Roads need to drop to 2 stars. I feel was raised to get people to use the naval units, but now people use them, and the road nerf needs to be undone.... here's the huge problem:
Like I mentioned earlier, whoever gets in the water first wins. Roads are needed to get around this. The only way to defeat a naval blockade is to build archery/catapults or search for a new city with water access. Roads are essential to transport the units needed, but this strategy doesnt work because everything is too expensive.
So basically, YOU CANNOT WIN IF YOU DO NOT GET IN THE WATER ASAP!
Which i find to be a huge problem because Polytopia used to be a game of many strategies, where you could win by using such a variety of ideas.. now it's become one dimensional.. just race to the water and spam navy.
How I would fix this:
I actually like the idea of new naval ships, but they need to be able to fight back when launching them, (maybe give ships at port a boosted defense. Ports would probably have a defense built into them anyways). This would allow ships go get in the water.
Also, can we allow markets to be built next to ports like we used to be able to? Right now they are useless and no one uses them.
