Hi!

I'm the one who writes and maintains the Elyrion language, and I can tell you that it is technically a conlang.

While inspired by English, it does have syntax and rules and stuff, but it is designed to be intentionally difficult to read/nonsensical to use.

The Elyrion are bizarre, and their language is as bizarre as I could make it to match.

Amazing! With this information, I will definately try learning the language.

It was intentionally written to be unintelligible so that people wouldnt try to learn it. :P

Challange accepted😎

So, here's the funny part about Elyrion - it's a sh*tpost.

It was designed as a joke as a way to make fun of the brand new localization feature we added.

"Besides adding Spanish, French, and so forth, what if we added a language that was intentionally stupid and unintelligible? Just to screw with people."

Midjiwan liked the idea, so I got to work making a sh*tpost. :P

So is there not like a 1 to 1 (or many) mapping of letters? I never put much thought into it but assumed that it just changed the letter symbols.

Is that not the case?

So, there is a 1:1 mapping, but it doesn't correspond to English words. Like, # is C, but it isn't a cipher for the English letter C. I do it this way in order to keep translation simple.

Elyrion has its own words that aren't English.

Is there a correct way to read this dialect?

No.

We have intentionally not handed out a guide, as "reading the intentionally illegible text" kinda defeats the purpose of the joke.
