FYI, it’s still the previous (current) version in TestFlight - 2.8.6.
It is taking some time to get to you
How can you test a skin, is it not just a sprite swap? Hard to imagine much can need testing, it either works or it doesn't?
I'm in the beta program originally to test the new updates, has anything changed gameplay wise?
We did a lot of under the hood changes, hence the beta. More than just a sprite swap.
Nothing has changed gameplay-wise
Looks awesome! Any chance we get a light themed, paladinesque, tribe or skin?
Elyrion is the "light-themed tribe"
In the tech tree, shouldn't necromancing be called necromancy?
Well, "necromancing" isn't the most grammatically incorrect thing possible. I think it adds to the charm.
But hey, whatever, might change it later. shrug
Please don’t be like Clash of Clans and release new skins every month. It just becomes a money making operation and a lot of the fun is lost.
We promised people that every tribe would get a skin. Right now, we're making good on that promise.
Already Best skin ever. I just have one question, what is the name of the new ride? and what real life animal does it represent?
It's a Dire Wolf
I noticed that the skin costs double the price of other skins. Why is that? I know the tribe costs double other tribes, but more work goes into the special tribes. Did the skin take double the effort?
It did, and we do want the Special skins to be more than the regular ones.
But mainly, the cost was to match the cost of the tribe.
Luxidor isn't $2, though. It's just weird to ask as much for cosmetics as is asked for game-enriching content.
This was actually a debate in the office about how much Lux's skin should cost.
We settled on $1 to match the other skins instead of breaking the pattern.
The Special skins are meant to be "more involved" than the others so we are okay with making them $2.
What do you mean by "more involved"? All the skins have music changes, outfit changes, city changes, most have an animal or fruit change. I would think a color change of the land would not be enough to double the price from one skin to the next. I'm not sure what I am missing.
I really love that you guys stay so passionate with the game and keep working on it to make things better. I have bought every tribe and several of the skins in support.
I just am worried about having double the price now, only for even better skins to come along, and the price gets doubled or more again to the point where skins are costing a third or half the game's price point like call of duty or something. Skin pricing is out of control in gaming today. Of course, a $5 skin for a roughly $15 game is more understandable than a $20 skin for a $70.
Nah nah, we don't want that, either.
We want to keep them cheap.
Is there a max price for skins that you guys have talked about that you can share?
The ai mo skin looks like it had just as much change to it, but it doesn't look as pretty. The luxidoor skin looks like it has as much change or more(with the boat alteration) and it looks about as pretty.
I might buy them all if the skins ever go on sale for like half off.
We actually can't put the skins on sale since $1 is lowest we can price something on Android or iOS, so that sale won't happen.
There isn't a set max price, but more like "Regular skins are $1, Specials are $2." Mainly to match the tribe prices.
