Lore guy here, let's answer these questions:

1. Probably just a section of it. We really haven't talked about the entirety of the planet.
2. The planet that the Polytopians live on is called "The Square." "Polytopia" really isn't a thing in their world, just sort of a cool name for our benefit.
3. Stars are a representation of resources. Food, gold, money, wood, labor, metal, and everything else that can be used to train soldiers and build structures.
4. They're magic users, but I guess you could liken them to monks.

The multiplayer game is already saved to a server, so it won't influence any single player games.

Them showing up in your game is intentional. That's how the Luxidoor were in the main app, but then since you get them for free, it now extends to the specials. I'll see what I can do about letting you disable them.

Sadly, the exact specifics on how to update drivers for your particular machine is a little out of the scope of this chat. That being said, it shouldn't be too difficult to find out how on Google. Also try reinstalling the game if you haven't, already.

Yeah, a handful of people have reported this. Make sure you try to verify files, update your graphics card drivers, and etc.

You should see a "Creative" option next to Perfection and Domination.

That's what I always played on mobile personally, I want to be able to take over the world not get stopped because I didn't do it fast enough and be told 'better luck next time'. Similar there's no map size options at all... Why do you need to create a multiplayer game in order to customize it?"

The first game is sort of a "tutorial" to get you familiar with things. After you finish it, it should unlock the other modes.

Make sure your internet connection is stable.
Also try updating Steam, if necessary.
If those don't work, try validating files.
