Hello Everyone!

Reverse Friendly Fire (RFF) is coming to the live servers tomorrow (this now being today). When a player abuses the friendly fire mechanic to grief their teammates, this system is activated. We believe that this first version will be a positive step forward in our fight against team killing while maintaining the same intensity and high stakes gameplay that is core to the Rainbow Six Siege experience.

The Y4S1 release of RFF is not our final version of the system. Future iterations and improvements will continue based off data and player feedback.

Community feedback so far has been invaluable and allowed us to make early iterations to the system. For example, RFF can now activate based on total friendly damage. In these cases, there is no validation screen for the offending player’s teammates. We are also striving to make it clearer how operators and gadgets will react to this system. We have consolidated some guidelines below for your reference.

Also, from feedback given by the community on their thoughts about being team killed by a pre-made squad of players

"Further changes for Reverse Friendly Fire will come during Year 4 Season 2. We will introduce situations where the system will activate for the whole squad. How gadgets will react and behave under Reverse Friendly Fire will also be fine-tuned based on data and feedback."

Hey!

So the bans for TK'ing is still there in the background, if you inflict enough team damage you'll get the correct ban (30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 24 hours, 7 days) applied to your account if the validation has been confirmed as an intentional team kill. The only difference is, you still get the death once RFF has been confirmed.

If I TK you 4-5 times over the whole match, but you see they were all accidental and you report it as Not Intentional there will be no RFF activated and the TK ban will not be applied.

If there is no answer on the validation screen, intentional is automatically applied.

2. Speaking of C4..if a player C4's multiple friendlies..what happens?
Good question! I'll get back to you with the answer for that.

good job UBI.

Well all I can say is when this goes live later on today, give it a go and tell us how you feel afterwards.

You'll feel a bit dead if they that it was intentional.

However, I'm confused. If you TK me 4 times, and I forgive you..then you won't be accountable for bans or RFF? But If you were sanctioned after your 1st TK then how do you TK me 3 more times during your RFF sanction? Would this be via the unintentional explosives RFF action?
If you keep forgiving someone because you feel it was an accident, that player won't be banned and RFF will not be activated.

If you say the first TK was on purpose, the next time I attempt to TK you I will receive the damage.

Also your feedback is great, by the time Year 4 Season 2 update rolls around when we make further changes from the community feedback and data gathered I'll be able to give you more answers then.
