A shotgun can interract with the surrounding creating more possible ways to use his gadget.
A primary shotgun.

I could see it being helpful to open up more space. However, I feel like Wamai's gadget can't be in a too open space or it may be easy to spot. Its range is already pretty large, so most walls are not a huge problem.
