[2020] Why is the game such a killhunt type of game instead of plant the defuser based

I think about this a lot - the only thing I can figure is that folks are focused on improving K/D as opposed to W/L.
I come from a more "objective based" background in gaming, but I assume that folks who come from more "Kill the enemy" based backgrounds still focus on that.
