[2019] Why pick Ela over Lesion?

I don't think it's necessarily about their gadget, but their playstyle. Lesion players normally play on or near site, placing their mines in areas where attackers usually push from, whereas Ela is more of a deep roamer, catching roam denial attackers off-guard or flanking late in the round.

It probably boils down to preference. I know a majority of people find the Scorpion to have a wild recoil pattern, but for me it's not nearly as bad.
