To be honest, that's actually Castle's purpose on defense. He's meant to not only deny a certain entry point, but he's meant to soak up attacker utility as well. If you choose not to use a breach charge or Zofia nade on one of his barricades, you're forced to take a different route to the objective.

If you choose to spend that piece or pieces of utility, congratulations, you're in!... however, you now have less utility at your disposal to deal with Evil Eyes, ADS', shields, etc. It's all about how you play and where you put Castles barricades at. He's in a really good spot.

Or you can just punch it... because to get to you the defenders would need to waste THEIR utility to break another piece of utility, still think that removing impacts from castle was a mistake since at least it let him rebuild and re-arranje his own barricades from distance in a rush, such as the case of attackers getting in while he's out.

If attackers are attempting to melee Castle's barricade, That can be easily called out and dedicate a C4 for that. The barricade will be destroyed, but if you're getting frags in the process, I'd say that's a good trade-off.
