when i go to launch r6s through steam ubisoft is saying theyre having trouble verifying that i own it

First, try verifying game files, and if that doesn't work, try reinstalling, and if *that* doesn't work, try updating your graphics card drivers.

This error is caused by an incorrect Ubisoft account (one that does not own the Steam copy of the game) being logged into your Ubisoft Connect launcher. If you recall having another account (for example, one tied to a console for example) or using another account to start up the game initially please try logging in there to resolve the error.
