[2020] A good defender?

I've tried:
_ Bandit : I never managed to get his power doing anything interesting. I was hoping to detect enemies.
_ Buck: nobody ever tripped my traps and I've played him a lot.
_ Lesion: my "traps" are shot before being triggered.
_ Ela: the traps are working once in a while but seem totally irrelevant (I was shot by someone who got the effect of the trap before I even had the time to react)

I like the concept of traps in general.

He isn't a trap op, but maybe you could give VIgil a try? He's quickly become one of the best defenders, and his K1A is in the top 3 best defender weapons.
