Most people won't give a damn if you're a squeaker, or have a McDonald's mic, as long as you can provide clear callouts and assist teammates.

TL;DR Don't play Ranked if you don't have a mic

Do you find that players who are in a particular rank don't communicate via mics, or is it something you've experinenced in multiple elo lobbies?

I'm in Gold mostly, and out of five players on the team, it's usually only myself and one other that use a mic. I'm almost always tempted to take the timed Ranked ban and just leave a match I know I'm going to lose because we aren't going to win because of a complete lack of communication.

I've experienced this myself, so I know exactly what that feels like. I've noticed that sometimes people don't talk because they're nervous, or don't want to be told to "be quiet" while talking in-game. What I do is I'll start giving callouts even if my teammates aren't. If your calls lead to kills or a round win, normally that'll make another person want to speak, and then another, so on and so forth. Set the vibe on the team!
