It's fair to say names like that are often smurfs, or cheaters.

(To clarify not the accounts but to prevent names where they are just the same 2 characters spammed)

Do you know for a fact this player was cheating? If you have any visual evidence of this, feel free to bring it to Ubisoft Support for investigation.

And whilst not the same gives you an idea at least.

I definitely know what you mean. Whenever I get into a Ranked or even Quick Match with a name similar to that, I get nervous that it's a hacker of some sort, but more often than not, it ends up being a regular player who wants you to think they're a cheater. I guess it's a mindset thing?

I wouldn't call it overthinking, I think it's a valid concern to have since "Barcode guys" have been known to cheat in the past. I've even seen some type in chat "I'm hacking btw " and then proceed to bottom frag the entire game. Unless they're toggling or like you said closet cheating, I wouldn't worry too much.
