[2020] Why do defenders are always eager to kill attackers?

Turtling isn't a very effective way to win in Siege. With the ability to open up so many lines of sight, hard breachers breaching literally everything, everyone in site would get shredded. Roamers (3-speeds) exist to counter vertical gameplay, anti-roamers, etc.
