So my friend has been playing on the test server and wanted to check it out with me. I uninstalled reg siege tonight and began installing the test server. About two hours later the test server is finished downloading, great. I go to open it and then Uplay asks me to logon, which is pretty weird, it usually logins automatically. No worries, I go ahead and login. The next screen that pops up asks for a product key....also weird but whatever. I go to steam, right click on siege and begin to look for my product key. It doesn't seem that there is one when you buy siege on steam. Hrmmm, so I go ahead and google this issue, and people are saying that I need to link my steam and uplay accounts? But they're already linked, I've played hundreds of hours on siege through it, and it is a requirement to play at all. That's odd, but no worries. I open uplay and go to my account settings, under my settings, there is a section that says account links. I go to this section and look at the one and only option on that section. It says "remind me to link accounts", which is ummmm, and interesting design decision to say the least. Where else is better to put your settings than on the thing that is mandatory and updates constantly? Anyway, more googling and I find out that the setting for linking steam and uplay accounts is on the website! Awesome! Let's login there and we'll get this sorted quickly. One login later and I go to the settings page and scroll down to the account linking section and I find ...this

So the only linkable accounts available to me are facebook and PSN...great

The only other way to link a steam account as I have read through a lot of googling is to open a ubisoft game through steam. Well, I only have one uplay game that works, and that was the original r6siege that I unstalled to make room for the test server. Another 2 or so hours later, it is reinstalled. I open it up, login to uplay and am greeted with "we cannot verify ownership" of siege and that I need to contact support. Apparently trying to use the test server revokes your ownership of siege.

As annoying and such a waste of time this has been on my day off, I am entirely unsurprised. Honestly I'm just glad the ceo of ubi didn't break in and shoot my dog.

Hey Madden, have you tried contacting customer support about this issue?
