I was reading the patch notes and they said there is a soft mmr reset. This means your base mmr will be between your rank and 2500 and i was wondering if it meant the rank at the end of the season or highest rank in the season. Does anyone know?
External link →I thought if you got 2100 it goes to 2300 because that's in the middle of 2100 and 2500, the 1500 minimum i think just so people cant get negative mmr and start on like 500 and start low copper

We are crunching everything towards 2500.
Is it a worry that incentivising people to stay a high rank might end up in more smurfing?
Not really. The "incentive" in extremely minor. They just have slightly higher MMR during their placement matches the following season.
We are looking at what we can do to detect and manage smurfs though, and have a cell that is thinking on it.
