Pretty much the title. I like old Hereford and event one much more than the reworked one. As a matter of fact, I hate the rework and love the original.
I've also seen other people on this forum, youtube and reddit express dislike and disgust for Hereford rework.
That's why I was wondering, maybe the event version can stay. People are having fun there and isn't it all that matters. Fun in an entertainment product is a key thing.

Seeing the old Hereford in the game again has been a great trip down memory lane for sure! However, if you look deeper into the layout of the old map and how limiting it is in terms of holding down sites, attack strats, as well as rotation options for both attackers and defenders, you come to find the map to be a little unbalanced, which is why the development team opted to rework it to what it is now.

Not necessarily. The map was unbalanced in general, not specifically for Casual or PL. The rotation options were extremely limiting, especially on the 3rd floor where you were pretty much a sitting duck if attackers got the platform wall open, or had a Glaz sitting on the roof adjacent to the 3F Dummy rooms. Those parts received the most attention which is why the rework has been the most drastic one the dev team has done so far.

I wanted to touch briefly on the Pro League comment because I know there are players in the community that feel a lot of the changes are PL led. The team has taken notice of this and as mentioned in the recent Designer's Notes, there will be more communication on our end on which play level certain changes are geared towards.

Yes, even Hereford, House, and Bartlett U. We can adapt to those just fine with maybe a few minor tweaks. Team Fortress hasn't redone 2Fort just because they thought it was 'getting stale'. It's still there, still with tens of thousands of players every day. Original Hereford would be too. Please, just... give it back.
I appreciate this long and detailed post. I can sense that Siege is something you care a ton about and your passion is definitely felt throughout this. I wanted to highlight this portion of your statement because while I completely understand your desire to have the original maps come back to the game and have them stay the way they were when initially released, unfortunately creating a whole other build of the game for these maps isn't something that's easy or feasible, I'm afraid. There's a lot that goes into crafting these maps, a lot of which I don't know, but there would be an insane amount of things to factor in when thinking about creating essentially an entirely new build of Siege, while also maintaining and updating the current live build. All operators current and upcoming would need to be QC'd and balanced for old and new versions of maps, not to mention the variety of operator interactions that could happen on those old map versions.

We also know "so new players can learn maps" isn't really valid as you have this thing called Newcomer playlist with limited maps specifically for new players. BUT what if you used map pools in casual to swap out old versions of maps now and then? So maybe old Hereford comes back once in a while or old Kafe or old Kanal, etc. Only in Casual not ranked. Maybe both versions could exist simultaneously in matchmaking sometimes for fun. I still say that normal maps don't need to be on any sort of a limited map pool in casual but it might be a neat thing to do with bringing back old versions of maps prior to their reworks.

Would the team at least consider it I wonder?
I don't have the ability to speak on whether they'd consider it or not, but I do like your idea.
