Today I learned that r6s’ ban system is so broken and terrible, I was asked in game by another player what was my accent, so I replied “I am paki.” I was perma banned the next day.
I tried complaining to Ubisoft support. They said paki is an offensive term. I did not use it offensively, I didn’t even know it was offensive. So a kind woman sent an appeal to Ubisoft. They said they ban could not be appealed because of chat toxicity. I tried to explain to them, but it was as if they did not understand what context was.
The system is so flawed. They just select words that COULD be offensive, then ban you for typing them, no warning. Seriously, never got a warning, or a temporary ban. And it’s not like I had an extensive history of toxicity, I have only been temporarily banned like 5 times for accidental tk, and I have been playing since operation blood orchid. Yet ubi support still stated I had a “history of toxic behavior.” So stupid. This system is so busted, and the worst part is that they just do this sh*t without warning, my friend had the exact same thing happen to him last season. They should at least give you temporary bans as warnings.
However, I have a way better fix. Instead of just handing out autobans, just do autocensor, where “possibly offensive” words are censored with *****. So many other games do this. That way, you can keep a friendly in game environment, while not being dictators and taking our money and all the work we spent in our accounts. And while you’re at it, you should appeal all bans that are similar to mine. I know there are so many people out there in the same boat, just by doing a little reddit research.
I will be buying a new account, and I can afford it, but jeez, all the time and money spent on an account, gone. It sucks. Guys, if you see this, upvote it, maybe Ubisoft might consider this change in the future. See you guys in ember rise, on my new account.
