Not everything the development team implements is based on community feedback. Our dev teams have goals and things they want to achieve with the game. From my understanding the word "Casual" has long been seen as an insult towards people who've identified themselves in that community as has had a bad connotation attached to it, and the change to "Quick Play" was their way of trying to remove some of the toxicity in the community. I'll absolutely let the team know a portion of the community is unhappy with the recent changes made to the mode.

Would you mind providing an example of anyone who has ever felt insulted by the term casual?

Unfortunately more experienced players will talk down to individuals who aren't interested in playing in a comp setting. Calling someone a "casual" is their way of attempting to make those players feel bad about not playing in Ranked, and that's not the kind of environmental we'd want our players to be subjected to.

But on the flip side of this, I see people berated for being "tryhards" because of which gamemodes they choose to play and/or their playstyle. This really isn't something that's going to go away though.

I can try and ask the team for a bit more clarification. However, I've made a note of the feedback to the changes and will let them know how the community feels, so thank you for voicing your thoughts on everything that's changed this week.
