Well, I think it is time to take an extended break from Siege. I hadn't played in a little over a week, had about an hour to kill and thought I'd hop back in.

First match, entered an on-going match that was 3 vs. 5 already on match point. Lost, back at menu.

Second match, entered an on-going match, first round I play I get 2 kills and an assist and get kicked by my team before the round ends (guessing that is what happened to the last guy which is why there was an open spot). Back at menu.

Third match, it puts me in an on-going match, also already on match point, lost and back at menu.

At that point, I shut down the game and decide it is time give Siege an extended break. I don't fault the developers, but the toxic community. Life has enough stress these days that I don't need to deal with jerks in my free time. So, hanging up my gun charms for now and sticking to single player games since the average online gamer is a horrible person.

Of course, no reason to care that some dude isn't playing Siege anymore, but needed to vent. Feel free to lock this if need-be

Hey Kyle, thanks for taking the time to share your experience in Quick Match with us, I really appreciate it.

Joining a Match in Progress can be really frustrating, especially if it's match point already and you're working with a 3v5. What are some ways you'd like to see this feature changed? Would you like a way to opt-in/out of joining these kinds of matches? It's a difficult debate since Quick Match is intended to be a more casual laid back experience when compared to Unranked or Ranked. Adding a penalty for leaving these matches would automatically make the mode not feel casual, and that's not something our team wants. I totally understand wanting to take a break, and I hope you see something in the near future that'll make you want to fire the game up again.

If I know there is a chance my gaming session may get interrupted or cut short, I play Casual for that very reason.

I would like to opt out of joining on-going matches, but I know that option will lead to most folks turning that on and people being stuck in lopsided matches with no hope of reinforcements.

I think addressing Vote Kick might be helpful. I unfortunately don't know an elegant way to deal with it. If someone hasn't performed any negative actions (friendly fire, team kills, destroying friendly gadgets) and aren't AFK, they probably shouldn't be eligible to be vote kicked. But there are other things like not playing the objective that would be harder for the game to gauge. I think the Vote Kick probably needs addressed though as it is used more often for toxic purposes than its intended purpose. I've watched vote kicks fail against obvious team killers only to have me voted out for doing nothing wrong.
Yeah, it's not an easy thing to address. Leaving the players who decided to stick the game out without any help doesn't sound like much fun. Again, we're listening to feedback from the community on this.

Vote to Kick is another thing the team is looking into. Right now they're working on a Reputation System which will hopefully quell a lot of the toxicity facing our community. I don't have any details to share about the feature at this time, but it's something they're excited to add.
