[2022] Ranked MMR points explained

Good day,

Please can someone explain the MMR points system in ranked.
When I lose a game my MMR points drop between 90 - 100 points. When I win a game my points increase by 40-60 points.
When I lose a game it will be against people in the same rank as me but when I win it is against people in a higher rank than me.

I basically have to win 2-3 games to make up the one game lost.

Please can someone explain this to me.
