Well speaking from the twitch dauntless community there is alot of traffic at the start of each new huntpass for about 2-3 weeks then the population drops until the next huntpass. It takes less than 11hrs to max out the huntpass casually. the reward cache doesnt offer much for people to want to stick around and get every little things because honestly they are eye sores minus the handful that are okay.
Even the big name content creators dont play it much after the new huntpass drops because they dont really need to, there is so little offered from each huntpass, all they can really do is talk about the patch notes and a couple builds with click bait titles.
Even a lot of the new employees on their website ( https://phxlabs.ca/ ) dont even have gamer tags so safe to assume those new people employed dont even know what the actual f**k is going on with their game. Also i feel they shot themselves in the big toe when they decided to use reddit as a way to reach their player base, this place just feels like a YELP! review message board. I assume they realized that since now they seem to rely on Favro https://favro.com/organization/e5b8ad4a71148d7b5940992b/f86fee6bdc9be495922f7de2 now. Just post there with no backlash since there doesnt seem to be a way to communicate there. Just looking from the outside in anyway.
Much respect to people like CreatureTech-PHX. there is no way i could do your job. To be excited for new updates only to have to see all the negative and unmotivating comments. I do love this game, i have said enough times that i have around 8,000hrs clocked in game. If it wasnt for the random new slayers that show up in twitch dauntless category i would have left a long time ago. I dont know how many times i have said "I'm done with this game" and then a new player shows up, there excitement makes me excited again, then we laugh over stupid bugs that havent been fixed in over 3 years.
The game isnt dead but Kathy Bates has taken her sledgehammer to Pheonix Labs ankles, they appear to be limping until someone else wants to buy them (just being sarcastic now but im probably not far off)
