[2020] Why am I getting put against plats in casual quick match?

Hey Kyle,

Casual (Quick Match) has its own separate MMR system. When encountering Plat players in the Casual playlist, it's possible that player's Casual MMR is within 1,000 of yours.

We've let the dev team know how the community feels about the current state of Casual matchmaking. I don't have any updates at this time.

You don't need a rank in Quick Match in order to play against other players who have ranks. Those ranks only matter in Ranked. The Quick Match MMR, however, is a different story. A player can be Gold, Plat, Diamond, and still have the casual MMR of someone who's never played Ranked.

Over the past few weeks I've seen players frustrated with this system and I've let the developers know, but I don't have anything to share from those conversations at this time.
