Originally posted by virtualbasil: After completing my time in the newcomers game type I finally felt like I had the hang of the first three maps and was playing people roughly my level, except for several " Smurfs". I was quickly thrown into casual which has 4X more maps and with people way above my skill level. This game is so insanely dependent on Map knowledge due to the head shot mechanics in this game and having to know where people generally hide.

Also it seems that if you don't have a large amount of experience in games of the same type you will be vastly outclassed, even in casual. The game has a lot of potential in the class based shooter genre, but simply falls short for anyone new.

Does anyone else think that buy adding another "Intermediate mode" somewhere between newcomer and casual would help? This could be another limited map mode where players could learn that crucial map knowledge and head shot mechanic in a more forgivable environment.

R6 definitely has a learning curve, which means in the beginning, you're probably going to lose more than you'd like. Everyone who's played the game has been in your shoes before, so don't be discouraged that you're losing gunfights or unsure what to do in certain situations. You should head on over to R6Academy [r6academy.ubi.com], it's our outlet where we upload educational videos about the game to help everyone become better players! We also have a Discord! [discord.gg] If you hop in there, you'll absolutely come across some people who'd be willing to take you under their wing and show you the ropes. You'll also find more people to play with!
