Here's an excerpt from our Status Report blog post,[www.ubisoft.com] where we directly mentioned smurfing:

"Our User Research team will continue to work to improve our understanding and analysis of this topic in the future, however, a major difficulty lies in the limited tracking. Smurfs are difficult to identify, and we need a way to do so before making any changes to our system to combat these players."

Smurfing is a priority for us. We understand how frustrating it is for new players, and for those who are being placed up against a "new" player who's secretly a high Plat/Diamond player. I'd recommend reading the full Smurfing block to get a better understanding of where the team is at in the fight against smurfing.
