This is only exacerbated by having PvP in the game. If the best stuff can only be gained from PvP (rewards from winning or purchased with currency acquired from PvP), the people that grind the most or spend the most will have a strong advantage due to having the best purchasable equipment and just stomping players that don't spend an obscene amount of time grinding or pay their way to victory.
It is important to understand here that elite operatives, for example, are rarely found in the market. It doesn't matter if you have a large amount of money now or not.
