Let me start off by saying I just got this game yesterday and am already loving it! Was a huge fan of Swat 3, Swat 4, Rainbow Six Vegas, etc. and was looking for the modern incarnation of these games, and wow, this game is great! Going to try to get my group of friends to buy it so we can all be on a squad.

That said, the one thing about this game that is already driving me up the wall is "evidence gathering" objectives. Multiple times now I have spent an equal amount of time walking around the map to gather evidence as I did actually neutralizing threats and evacuating civilians.

Let's talk specifically about the Twisted Nerve mission. There's literally drugs, guns, meth, and heroine all over the house. There's even an entire room where you can see them distilling meth or whatever with those big fans. However, the game insists you find two very specific packs of meth hidden in the level that blend in with a million other objects. The one on the floor by the staircase is especially bad as it doesn't even look interactable.

To distill this feedback down to some bullet points...

  • Gathering evidence objectives are often very time consuming, tedious, and not particularly fun.
  • Your AI squad does nothing to help in this regard. No audio cues or anything to indicate the evidence is nearby.
  • In levels like "Twisted Nerve", gathering evidence just feels silly. There are MOUNTAINS of evidence all over the place; having the player secure two specific pieces (that are essentially the exact same as all the non-interactable evidence) serves no purpose other than tedium.
  • Dumb question, but do real Swat teams even do this type of thing, or is this for the detectives to do after the scene is secure? I genuinely don't know, but am curious.

Anyway, I do want to reiterate I love the game! I am having a great time and can't wait to see what this game can become as it moves through early access into full release. However, since it is early access, now seems like a great time for some critical feedback like this :)

Honestly this stuff is probably gonna see a big rework and reassessment. Thanks for this feedback.
