As someone who is a regular shooter and gun collector in real life, one thing that has always frustrated me about FPS games is their treatment of the shotgun.

It seems that as far as video game designers are concerned shotguns only shoot buckshot. I do not know of any video game that allows the player to load their shotgun with slugs. Slugs extend the effective range of the shotgun out past 100 yards.

I can consistently ding the 6" plate at 100 yards. There are well established "slug select' drills that we do in the real world when the gun is loaded with buck and you need a slug. That could be a keyboard command. Several games allow you to switch the gun your carrying from single shot to full auto or burst, applied to the shotgun that could be buckshot or slugs.

Please consider adding slugs the the shotgun's ammo selection.

Very very very early on we actually had a way to select and load ammo into your shotgun in-game. It was really cool, though a very cumbersome system. We have some plans for ammotype selection, and it will likely extend beyond just buckshot and slug, or FMJ and JHP.
