[2019] Mini-PSA to Switch players: Be careful when going into a ranked match, the bug that keeps you from moving at the beginning of the match is still in the game

I ended up loosing placement matches in several different modes because of a persistent bug that doesn’t allow you to move at all during the beginning of a match until a goal is scored, which is usually by the opposing team and sets you up to lose the game.

This bug has been in the game, as far as I know, since the game came out on the system. I’ve submitted several bug reports, it still hasn’t been fixed. I checked my internet connection and speeds and concluded that it isn’t from my end, and that it’s either server side or the game itself. My buddy got hit by it in comp 2s yesterday as well.

If you don’t want to risk messing up your placement matches/rank, I’d strongly suggest steering clear from comp
