[2020] Just got banned!

So i almost got 4k hours into this game and this is my first ban. Lets gets this sh*t straight - I deserved this ban. I dont ever talk in game unless its a "lol" or some crazy sh*t happens and i have to say something. Tonight I had been drinking a bit and I called my teammate a fag for trying to forfeit at 0-2 with 3 minutes left. I immediately regretted my word choice and said "sorry for using fag thats not cool". 5 minutes after the game i was banned for 72 hours. SO good news psyonix actually looks at your reports! Keep reporting toxic players like myself and hopefully they will get banned for a couple days so the next time they try and talk sh*t they will think twice. I know I will!

Hello! This is not the case. With a word like f$%k, you need to be reported in several different matches in a short period of time. And if you are punished, the first offense here would be a 24-hour chat ban. We've always treated "creative language" differently than slurs like the one referenced in OP's story.
