[2020] [Megathread?] Bank Bug

We're investigating at the moment. Thanks for your patience everyone - and Shauny for pulling this thread together.

EDIT: if anyone has been affected, please DM me your display name and how it happened in as much detail as possible, it'd be much-appreciated as we try to reproduce the bug.

UPDATE: we've spent the evening trying to reproduce the bug mentioned, with no success as yet. However, we will continue to monitor this issue and any other problems players may experience that could be connected to it. We've identified a minor bug that is bank-related but doesn't seem to cause the issue in question.

UPDATE - 18:18 GMT, Friday 17th

Thank you everyone who has shared their stories with us over the past few hours. It's been a bit of a whirlwind!

After a lengthy investigation, we've successfully identified and fixed the issue at around 3.20pm GMT - it was a two-level bug that involved an item being dropped to the ground when being deposited and, that items would be dropped to the ground when depositing them whilst also moving another item into that slot - making it appear that the player's item has switched from one to the other. In the example here, the perception was that the spirit weed seeds turned into Cosmic Runes. What actually happened was that the seed was added to the ground, whilst the Cosmic runes that were already in their bank took the spot of the spirit week seeds had visually deposited to. Both levels of complexity of the bug required the player to perform a series of actions without closing the bank, whilst also having item(s) in the inventory and a full bank. Due to the bespoke nature of the bug, in this moment we don't believe it will have affected many players. We'll keep monitoring over the next few days.

We can confirm there has been no duplication of items, and we're investigating those who may have lost items as a result of the issue, with a view to returning items that have been lost next week. If you believe you've lost items, please send us a ticket here and we'll investigate.

As a side note, we've identified a small visual bug we've found whilst investigating this bug as well, which may have exacerbated the issue - we'll aim to fix this as soon as we can.

We've tried a lot of repro steps with placeholders on and off, with no dice at the moment. Thank you for sharing!
