Yep, you're not far off.

We have a similar document internally listing all the known meanings of each TzHaar syllable (they typically have 2-4 meanings often wildly different depending on context), and update it as new interpretations are introduced.

So it's less that there are unifying modifiers like here, but more that each syllable has multiple meanings (some derived from the ancient TzHaar language which was cruder and simpler), and those in turn chain together into words that also differ in meaning depending on context and sentence structure.

In other words, "TzHaar lingo be trippin', yo".

But if you've managed to find meaning in those meanings, I won't be a meanie and wean you from their weft and weave.

i have a question on pronunciation. i cant remember if they say this word in the two voiced quests or not, but tokkul pronounced tah-kool or toh-kool?

Yep, TokKul's said during the Brink of Extinction several times. (Though admittedly we recorded the actors in separate sessions, and even with a phonetic guide the TzHaar language was a bit of a challenge, so there was some variation!)

"TOCK-kool."

Same as you emphasise the TOCK in TokHaar.

And the T is silent in TzHaar. (I'm sure you know that, but I exploit every opportunity to spread the word. :D)

Mod Ash wins all the things for his pronunciation of TokTz-Xil-Ul here, though: https://youtu.be/kFM6RSCzPgI?t=289

Think we could ever get this language released canon-wise? Obviously Tzhaar questline has nudged us along to the point where OP has used words used in (Elder Kiln? Forget which quest the book is in) but it's cool to know there's an actual language system used for it.

Probably not, if I'm honest. It's primarily a record of what's already known to players anyway (starting with the language guide from TokTz-Ket-Dill). Plus the released copy would get out of date as we gradually add to it over time.

Thank you very much! :D

Honestly, I didn't know this. I always pronounced it "Tuz-Harr"

so its pronounced "zar"? i do remember them saying that ingame but i thought it might have just been the T sound being hard to hear or not being picked up by the mic properly. though i guess pronouncing the T would be better than the way my brother used to say it: "tah-zah-har".....i wanted to smack him when he said that XD

Indeed.

Please do Guthix's work and smack your brother for me (social distancing permitting).

sorry to necro this, but i have another one for you: Crassian

is it cray-zhion or crah-see-an?

also side note, what even are they? i first encountered them during either the pirate questline or the sunken tutorial island quest (cant remember which) and my character acted like he already knew about them. i havent seen anything else ingame that talks about them besides them just being a standard trash mob in ed3. are they just some creature that im supposed to assume everyone in-universe already knows about and leave it at that?

The latter pronunciation. (Or more accurately, CRASS-ee-un.)

Crassians first appeared in the A Shadow over Ashdale quest, so that's a good place to start for backstory. (Though most of it was portrayed through environmental storytelling.)

Crassians (and the sea monsters that spawn them) have since been featured in other aquatic content such as the pirate quest finale, Beneath Cursed Tides and the shadow reef.

im not sure where else to put this, so i guess ill put this here:

who do i talk to about a 2-day ban i just got with the offending time set to when i was logged off and eating dinner? like how does that even happen? the offense page says it's not appealable, but im not even sure why i got the ban in the first place

Sounds like potentially your account may have been hacked while you weren't logged in, and then used to perform a bannable offense? Potentially the time provided may also be UTC, but having no personal experience working in Player Support, I can only speculate.

Content developers are unable to assist with account issues and bans. You have to go through the Player Support ticketing system.

ok thanks. i found the "appeal ban" section of player support. ill place an appeal.

one question though. i think i might know what happened. my razer keyboard profile was set to a profile i use for a different game and that profile has a rapid click macro on it, set to press-to-toggle.

before logging off, i was pickpocketing H.A.M. members for easy clues using the "one button gameplay" method and i had accidentally hit that macro key. it was only on for a few seconds before i realized it was pressed, but it was long enough that it took the game a good minute or two to catch up with the spam of inputs. would that have maybe tripped the system?

my theory is that maybe the "offending date" was set to when the ban was applied rather than when the offense took place and that the ban was applied while i was logged off

I'm unable to confirm or deny either way, but detecting macro usage on a device does sound like it may fall under the definition of a macroing ban.

Your explanation certainly seems more probable and less worrisome than the possibility that your account's been compromised.

Hope you get it straightened out with Support with minimal fuss!
