It’s been a couple of days since they’ve dropped and I haven’t seen anything yet: anyone try playing on a Mac with the new chip?

I’m due for a new computer and really like what I’m hearing about the M1, but RuneScape compatibility might cause me to make a decision between Premier Club (and buying one with Intel) or the M1 chip. I’m a causal player currently running on my 2011 MacBook Pro. I like MacBooks for reasons unrelated to gaming, so don’t waste your time telling me to get a PC; I know they’re better for gaming and am bummed Alt1 doesn’t have a Mac version.

Now thinking, they could use mobile client (which already uses ARM) as a base.

Would this be feasible? /u/darkimmortal

The mobile client is built from the same codebase as the desktop client, so applying the mobile ARM optimisations to desktop is literally a matter of flicking a switch

That said we have no apple silicon plans yet, and I don’t want to downplay the difficulty in releasing an apple silicon version, there is quite a lot more involved, but at least some of the work is ready to go
